INVENTIA KINETICS lead the project Fusion, whose general objective is to contribute to the decarbonisation of the air transport sector through technological and operational innovations applied to future short- and medium-range single-aisle aircraft, enabling greater environmental efficiency to be achieved by reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in the aviation sector.
To this end, the project Fusion develop a novel mechanically optimised aerostructure concept that reduces mass and therefore energy consumption, making the aircraft more efficient and sustainable. This aerostructure will be used in the serial assembly of the central and rear fuselage of next-generation, more efficient short- and medium-range aircraft.
This is a collaborative investigation between commercial and military aviation that seeks to define the scope of final fuselage assembly by identifying and evaluating issues and limitations, to enable the development of support techniques in unison with best engineering practices within a robust, reconfigurable and sustainable manufacturing system. This innovative approach responds to the requirements of different markets with a single concept under similar developments.
This project has been subsidised by CDTI, with the support of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, under file number MIG-20241004 through the 2024 call for the grant award procedure aimed at the “Science and Innovation Missions Programme”, of the Transfer and Collaboration Programme of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2024-2027, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
